Chinese Jasmine Green tea ( Moli Piaoxue )

Fresh jasmine from Hengxian, Guangxi, the primary origin of jasmine, is used along with Huangshan maofeng, one of the ten famous Chinese teas. Through a seven-times scenting process, high-quality jasmine tea is created. The combination of fresh jasmine and green tea makes a beautiful appearance. However, it is essential to note that the jasmine is picked after the processing. Adding more fresh jasmine enhances the appearance but does not contribute to the scent since the tea already absorbed it during the scenting process.

How to brew Jasmine tea, and what kind of tea set to use?

--Glass cup: boil water and cool to around 80℃-85℃/176℉-185℉. After you've cooled the water, pour hot water into the cup and add 3g-5g tea leaves based on your liking. Wait for 1-2 minutes and enjoy the tea.

I prefer a glass cup because it provides a beautiful view of the tea leaves sinking to the bottom while the jasmine floats. It creates a dancing effect in the water.

--Gaiwan: using a Gaiwan involves adding 3g-5g tea leaves and pouring 80℃-85℃/176℉-185℉ water into it. Wait for a minute, then enjoy the tea.

The benefit of using Gaiwan is that it is more accessible to control the strength of the tea based on the desired taste. If you prefer light tea, pour the soup faster and adjust it per steep.

Tip for brewing tea :

  1. .Preheat your teapot before brewing: Pour hot water into it and let it sit for a minute. This helps to clean the teapot and enhances the flavor of the tea. It also ensures that your tea stays warm for a more extended period.
  2. If you are new to drinking tea, use less tea leaves and gradually increase the amount according to your preference. Adjust the water temperature accordingly as well.

Favorite tea since childhood

My grandma used to visit me in San Francisco and she'd take me to the Japanese Tea Garden. It was such a wonderful trip and memorable because she was Salvadoran and barely spoke English! But the smell of the jasmine tea she would order for us after the walk along the beautiful park, and just being with her brings such warm memories!
This tea is Chinese, I know, but it hasn't changed since I first found it in Chinatown in SF, and I've been buying it ever since. The quality and scent is still the same, and the cost hasn't risen much either.
If you enjoy a nice cup of fragrant tea to refresh your afternoon, this is that tea.

Easy drinking and delicious!

Excellent quality everyday Jasmine loose tea. Delicious and beautifully fragrant. Use with slightly cooler than boiling water. Small 1/2tsp is sufficient for 1 mug, seep for 3 mins then drain out leaves and you’ll have your perfect cuppa without any bitterness. If you seep the tea for too long the tea will have a slight bitterness. It has a very light golden color so don’t think you need more seeping to give more flavor, 3 mins is perfect.

A staple in our home

This tea lives on my shelf. I nearly ran out last month and I panicked. It's the only green my husband will drink. It's a subtle floral green that is just easy to drink on all day.
