Why a Chinese tea cup without a handle? Isn't it easier to carry without burning your hands? Some of my foreign tea friends asked me the same question before: Does it also confuse you?
To answer this question, it has different points to explain.
*From history reason, when people first discovered the tea tree, they put the loose tea into a pot and cook as soup .so tea was regarded as a vegetable at the beginning, and the original tea set was the bowl we used.
*From the cultural angle of view, such as Gaiwan it’s composed of three parts. The cover is compared to heaven. The cup is compared to a human, and the tray is compared to land, which means the unity of nature and humanity.
In addition, each tea set on the table has its particular purpose and location and restricts each other without interfering with each other. This is the cultural connotation of self-discipline.
From a practical point of view, you can’t feel the tea temperature if, with a handle, it’s easy to get scalded.
